What a nightmare. Went swimming this afternoon as its so hot here. Just down the road is a free lido. There is a paddling pool for babies and toddlers and a bigger pool not very deep but above waist high so can swim. Went in there first absolutely freezing but did a few lengths.
Also there is a roped off area in the river which is quite fast flowing. At one end there are steps out and bars to stop you carrying on down the river. So in I went but did not realise how strong the river was and got swept down to these bars and steps. Damaged both shins and feet. Covered in bruises now. Had a real struggle trying to get out as the force of the water was so strong.
When i fianlly made it went back to the smaller pool so that I could keep the bruises in cold water. Seemed to have done the trick although getting a bit painful now.
Done lots of HW this morning as back to England in the morning.
