Did you ever see the like

Saw this sight today at the flea market. Wonder what he wears during the week? They were fishnet tights as well.
Not a lot else going on yesterday. A really sunny day though so that was good and walked into town by the river. Bought a couple of books and sat on the balcony in the afternoon with coffee and cake. OH has been trying to track down some methylated spirits but dont think they have it here . Have something similar but apparently they put something different in it here.
Watched a great DVD last night - The holiday.
Today is the opposite of yesterday - very dull.

Keeping fit

Today I have done a lot of walking. Walked into the city today for lunch with the girls instead of catching the tram. Took me about half an hour so no too long really. Went by a new route - not really quicker but went along the Sihl instead of the Limmat. Found a few conkers and the leaves are definitely on the turn. Very chilly as well - glad of my thick coat and scarf. No sitting outside today. Only 3 of us today but had a chat anyway. Its good to meet up. Did a little shopping - some more rikrak and a photo glue runner. Then walked home. Got some food for dinner on the way and was glad to get indoors and warm up.

Went down to town again tonight but this time by tram. Can use the ticket again tomorrow so will get my moneys worth. Am going to look at the price of hoovers. May get just a little hand held jobbie.

scrapping

well have had a scrapping day today . The weather has not been good and needed to finish some half started LOs. Also managed 2 of my LSNED album so am up to date with that.

Pleased to say I was a little lighter this morning - must be all the walking I have been doing. Still eating the chocolate though.
This one I did for the weekly challenge on UKS. It is a digi LO - credits paper (colour altered) stitching and stars by Gina Huff (weeds and wildflowers) and the blue doodled flowers are by Kate Hadfield. Font - boring showers. I made the chipboard flowers using PSE5

This one is digidare 54. Changing beautiful pictures into black and white - only using square photos and journalling to say why photos beautiful. Don't think I managed the last part very well. All done by me using PSE5

dinner

Had a great dinner Sunday. Went out to lunch with a work colleague of T's and his swiss wife. They live very near the German border in some lovely countryside but still not that far from work. Their house had all the typical Swiss rooms with a cellar for all those useful things like boiler and washing machine and a wonderful attic room that went across the whole house.

The weather again was beautiful, sunny and warm so had a great walk in the afternoon through a garden centre. Its one of the things I love about Switzerland. This garden centre was closed (everything is on a Sunday) but we could walk around - there are no fences and all the pots etc are just there on the ground. In England I'm sure everything would have been stolen if not under lock and key.

Monday also sunny and warm so went for a walk along the river and then sat in the sunshine to read the paper.

Today though the weather has turned and it rained earlier and is much much colder. Had my hair cut today which was very pleasant as it was done by one of the girls I meet for coffee here so we had a great chat and I think I learnt more about my hair than I ever have before.

weather

Well the weather is certainly turning up trumps this week. We have had another glorious day. Walked into the city this afternoon by the river. One brave soul swimming and plenty sunbathing. A big protest going on but have absolutely no idea what about.

Bought myself some acrylic or thick plastic sheet and am going to attempt to make an album with it.

Watched some of the rugby at the Lion but OH coudn't bear to watch all of it. Pleased to see Tim won his singles and doubles match at Wimbledon. Shame he is retiring.

weather

Well it has been another absolutely gorgeous day. The sky is blue and the sun is shining. Bit cold in the early mornings and after the sun has gone down but otherwise lovely. See it was similar last year . At least trying to take a piccie a day means that I can see what the weather was like last September too. A few behind again on my Sep album. Not every day is bursting with new things to learn or take a picture of. However it does make me think about my day and what I have done or not done so getting the old grey cells working a bit.
Having salmon and new potatoes for dinner tonight with hollandaise sauce. Hopefully got some peas in the freezer.

Also been out clothes shopping again. Been invited out to lunch. I hate clothes shopping though. I am either too short or too flat or too fat in the wrong places and the sleeves are always too long. A lot will depend on the weather.

HP

Finally got myself a copy of the last HP book so have been busy reading .
Went out to lunch with some friends. Really hot so able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and top up the vitamin D.
Realised I am going to miss the UKS CC again. Hopefully take part in the run up though.
Other than that have caught up with a couple of daily LO's and been doing boring things like washing, shopping and cooking.

wedding outfit

Finally managed to get a wedding outfit that is not black and white. Hurrah
Been a bit busy. Looking for an outfit Friday and collecting my GD for a sleepover. She was very good and hopefully enjoyed herself. Its great just to have one at a time because I can give them lots of attention.
Saturday was spent crafting in the morning and taking GD home.
Sunday we rearranged the garage so now we can get more stuff in.
Great weather all weekend

The eyes have it

Well great - went through passport control with no trouble at all and bypassed a big queue as well so it was worth signing up particularly as plane was changed to a bigger one and the seat I had chosen was now in first class so I got sent to the back which meant a long delay in getting off the plane.

Great pick up from the car parking though.

Lovely hot day and sunny- beautiful.

digi dare

Been working on this for a few days now. The dare was to take a designer that you love and try to do a similar LO. So I love Kate Hadfields work but I generally scrap using quite straight line so this was quite a challenge.

Holiday

OH of work today as it is a holiday in Zurich. Traditionally the men used to take their sons out for their first shoot.

I declined a visit to the transport museum and instead we went for a walk up Uetliberg . Zurich closest mountain. Its about 450 m above Zurich. We took the tram as far as possible and then walked. Very steep with steps in places. Took us about one and half hours with frequent stops. Lunch at the top - very sunny and then down a very slippery path to catch the tram back.

When we reached the bottom there was a huge fun fair with loads of rides and parades and things. No tram was going to get through there so we had to take various buses before reaching Limmat platz and then home

Sunday

Walked to Triemli pm and went to the cinema in the evening to see The Bourne Ultimatum. Nothing like the book but a great film. Best we've seen for some time.

Weather

The weather is really turning here. Yesterday we went for a walk along the river into Zurich and the leaves are definitely turning now. The other day I noticed the street cleaner sweeping them up as well. They are quite fanatical out here and all get their little hoovers out to suck up the fallen leaves. Don't think we are quite at that stage yet though.

Today the weather has changed again and it was quite warm and sunny . We popped down to Burkliplatz to the fleamarket (Got another jug!) and then had a look round the Swiss building centre looking at various new sinks and showers. Great one where the bath at the flick of a switch stands up against the wall to reveal a shower!

A trip to the lakeside restaurant for lunch - sat outside and soaked up the rays - and then a boat ride back to town where we picked up the DT.

Ticket

Well today was the last day of my "free" ticket on the trams so again had to go out and use it. Only went in to the next town of Oerlikon but actually found a shop that had about 5 different 12x12 scrapbook papers! I also drooled over the troll beads in the window of the jewellers.

Had hoped to print off some pics at a DIY photomachine but the shop was being renovated so that was a disappointment.

Came back home and went to the local supermarket and I was just leaving when to my delight I found a photo machine tucked round the corner. Doesn't take much to make me happy LOL

Can now yake pics and print off to do my page a day in September album. Must take a few pics. Meanwhile here is a digi LO I finished today for the weekly challenge on UKS.

Dash into Zurich

Had a quick dash into Zurich as the coffee morning/lunch was changed to wed instead of Thursday. Found them all in the pub -great to chat in English.

Also managed 3 LO's for S's course and have taken photos for the next 2 but need to get them printed out.

Dry today but chilly - certainly need a jumper.

rain

Well here I am again in Zurich and it is rain rain rain - although having said that the sun has just peeped out.

Journey yesterday fairly uneventful although I did get my iris's photographed for hopefully easier passage through passport control when I return. We shall see.

Have been using the bus ticket today as T got a new one so have been to the shopping centre but nothing of note. All clothes black and nothing to wear for a wedding - not that I could see anyway. Did buy a book - Atonement - hopefully will read it before I see the film.

5 children

Well 5 children ages 9, 6, 4, 2 and 1 create a lot of mess. There were also 5 adults but even so they still managed to get every toy out of the cupboard and spread them all round the house. Hopefully everyone had a good time though and caught up on news. We don't all manage to meet up too often so there is usually quite a lot of catching up to do . All the children seem to get on well particularly the 2 girls 6 and 4.

Everyone has gone now and it is very quiet so I am catching up on the washing and tidying.

Am also hoping to get started on Shimmelles class. - Learn something new every day - Did this last year but am still learning.
