A beautiful day today. Lovely blue sky for our great niece's christening in a very pretty church. A great drive home through the back roads so we could enjoy the daffs and the primroses and see the bushes bursting into greenness.

minibook

Been busy the last couple of days making a small minibook as a present. Basically taken Annette's design http://scraphappenshere.blogspot.com/2008/02/bia-mini-book.html but used different papers. Should really have ordered these in advance but as usual decided to make this at the last minute and the local shop does not go in for baby papers.

Can't believe I didn't take a photo on Mothering Sunday!!!!! Have actually missed a couple of days just lately and those I have taken haven't been particularly brilliant.

Had been doing some gardening which left me with a painful elbow plus got something down my throat and both these sources of pain kept me awake that particular night.

Monday 23rd This is the progress made on a jigsaw DM and I have been doing. It has proved more difficult than I thought it would be.

A card sent by DGD who is 5 to her great grand nan. She did it all be herself. Little bit of work needed on the spelling front but don't you just love the butterflies!

garden

My picture of the day is taken in the garden. After last years disaster with the dreaded lily beetle I am taking the bulbs out of the tub. I was just going to replace the soil but I have since discovered that the adults overwinter not necessarily where the lilies are. I think I am going to pot up the bulbs therefore in separate pots and keep them in the green house for this year and then perhaps try them outside again next year.

Well what a beautiful day it has turned out to be so I went out for a walk this afternoon and took these photos.

friday the 13th

Today the sun was shining so we decided to walk into town probably 3-4 miles there and back. We did have a sit down and a cup of coffee in town though.

Spent the afternoon finishing off my EF52 tag.

If I could do it all again would I change anything?

Paint, chalk,ink hand sewing,stamping,stickles. Would change the word stamping again 'cos I messed that up LOL.

Otherwise no I don't think I would change anything. I do wonder what would have happened as we very nearly went to Australia on a 10pound assisted passage but changed our minds at the last minute. We had planned to settle in Melbourne. Wonder if we had gone whether we would have been living where the dreadful fires have been?

It's mornings like this sunny and crisp that I wished I lived closer to the sea. Just here on a flying visit though.

UKS had a cybercrop this weekend and I have been very busy scrapping. Have done several LO's, a minibook and also made this wall hanging.

Today has been spent mostly doing housework but also browsing the net and finishing a book. It has been raining all day but the snow still has not totally melted. I popped out this afternoon and cleared a lot of the ice from the drive so now it is easier to get in and out at least.

Have been out for a little walk today and it was lovely to see the catkins out in the hedgerow.

Not such a sunny day as yesterday but it was dry at least. Apparently heavy snow is forecast for tomorrow. This afternoon I started my sweet pea seeds off in pots so am hoping for pretty flowers come summer.

but the sun came out and it started to warm up and I was able to play postman and deliver pressies to my DGD whose birthday it is today and then when I came home my garden looked like this

This afternoon I did tag no 5 for Emily Falconbridge 52Q.

The question was How do I feel today? This is my attempt at "full of the joys of spring" as I was so happy the sun was shining and I had delivered my present.

lunch

Met up with a friend in Bath today for a great lunch. I had a salsa wrap with refried beans and avocado - as you can see I had a clean plate -yummy. Actually was lucky with a parking space and got 4 hours free. Most of the parking in the outskirts is now parking permits only so there are great swathes of empty places where the residents have gone to work. In the good old days we were able to utilise these spaces during the daytime and leave them free for the residents in the evening.

Would normally use a P and R but unfortunately there is not one on my side. Hopefully one coming soon.

AWOL

Have been away for a little while helping out with a new grandchild so there has been no time for blogging. Still managing a daily photo - mostly of a new little girl. ( Not allowed to post them here). Anyway now I am home I have been busy doing thisPleased to see these
a couple of days ago. Also see there are bulbs coming up in my garden so it seems spring is on its way although I hear that it is going to get cold this weekend.

Have been reading quite a lot about art journals and so thought I would give one a go. I have never done one before so it is a whole new experience. Here is the 1st page - hopefully going to journal various bits about A on the adjacent page and then continue fortnightly through the alphabet.
